I am aware that the Church teaches non-violent views but I cannot find views from adherents on this topic.

This is a topic that, as you allude to, is covered by other teachings on violence. You won't see too much elaboration on the sin of domestic violence because it's so obvious that it's wrong, but you will see numerous negative references to it.
