Hi guys,
My family and I have to move out from our present home as soon as possible but the new rental house, which is our only option right now, has an idol which is a fixed structure on the wall.
- For Catholics, is it wrong to move into the house?
- Will we have any problem if we move there because of the idol?
I will be awaiting your response!
Thank you,
Sheeta

In this circumstance, can we move into a new rental house with a fixed Hindu idol on the wall? }

Eric replied:
Hi, Sheeta —
No, not wrong, unless a family member is tempted to worship it.
I'd cover it up and have a priest bless the house. If anything strange happens, request an exorcism of the house but this is very unlikely. I suspect that the worst that would happen is that it would make you feel perpetually uncomfortable. It's worth considering.

Bob replied:
Sheeta,
It is not a sin for you, but I would ask the Landlord to remove it. I may not take the rental house, depending on whether the idol has a demon connected to it. No one needs that problem.
Many idols are connected to the demonic. At the very least, you should have a priest do an exorcism of the property.

Sheeta replied:
Thank you for your response and time.
It was very useful.
The idol is a Hindu goddess.
